Where to Find School Closing Information This Winter
With winter weather right around the corner, we want to remind parents of the various ways District 204 announces weather-related school closing information. The announcement is made by 6 a.m. through the following:
• Information is posted first on X @ipsd204 and the district's website at ipsd.org
• 204 Connect phone call to parents/guardians
• Local television and radio stations
• Emergency Closing Center website
District 204 will only announce when schools are closed. If the district utilizes an e-learning day due to a weather related closing, please view the district’s e-Learning page for more information.
If schools are not closed, it is ultimately the responsibility of parents to decide if conditions safely allow for their children to attend school. If children are kept home due to weather conditions, parents must call the school to report the excused absence.
